The "Spit" wiggles its way about 5 miles out into the Katchemak Bay. Shop, dine, or just relax and watch the many different sea birds and sea life on the "Spit".

Average annual snow fall in Homer is 54", the temperature fluctuates from below 0 to as high as 50 degrees in the winter. The summer temperature is fairly tempurate because of being so close to the ocean.

The shortest day of the year has 6 hours of daylight, and the longest 18 and half hours of daylight.
